We are a nonprofit regional wholesale food distributor on a mission to connect communities to good food grown by sustainable family farmers. Gain access to a network of local farms and to some of the best foods our regions have to offer!
Since 2008, The Common Market has distributed local foods from over 300 sustainable family farms and producers to 1,800+ schools, hospitals, eldercare facilities, workplaces and community organizations. In that time, we estimate over 58 million meals have been served that include these fresh, healthy foods.
As a local food distributor, we serve customers in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Texas, and soon Chicago regions and is ready to partner with your organization. Interested in sourcing local? Ready to join us in support of vibrant regional food systems?

Fresh, healthy food is a right not a privilege.
Yet, the availability of nutrient-dense food grown locally is not always accessible for communities throughout our regions. Record-high food costs over the past year impacted countless across the country, putting even more pressure on our partners—community organizations, schools, and churches —working diligently to address food security in their neighborhoods.
It's why we are calling on our community to help us now so we can ensure food access for neighbors in the future.

WEBINAR: The Role of Cities
On August 6, 2021, the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future’s Food Policy Networks project and The Common Market hosted a virtual conversation with food policy directors and city leaders from Atlanta, Baltimore, and New York City to reflect on their food access programming; key learnings coming out of the pandemic; future crisis planning and approach; and policy recommendations in support of fair, vibrant regional food systems.
